Synopsis

Chris and Rosy are back in a new camping adventure. This time they end up at a campsite where Rosy urgently wants to do something. Unfortunately, some obstacles are put in her way. Meanwhile, Chris battles his own problems.

Film Facts

The third film in the GONE CAMPING series and the first to be set at a campsite.

As is tradition in the GONE CAMPING films, the vegetation in this film is once again different than in the other two episodes.

I didn’t count them, but I know for sure: there are more camera movements (tracking shots, panning shots) in this film than in any other of my brickfilms.

The construction site scene contains elements that were already used for the construction site in the first part.

Fun Facts

The plot was inspired by my own experiences: When my parents, sister and I went camping in Scotland (ages ago), it was a running joke that the toilets were always “Closed for Cleaning” when you absolutely needed them.

The LEGO tiles that adorn the stone paths of the campsite are the same as those used for the marketplace floor in the movie “pOp!”.

The large trees are products of BlueBrixx and fit perfectly into the setting. I only had two of them and just kept repositioning them.

In the interior shots in the camper while driving, you can see Chris and Rosy sitting next to each other in the driver and passenger seats. But in reality, the LEGO set of the camper only has room for one person. I had to build the interior separately for these scenes. The same goes for the interior of their neighbor’s camper at the campsite, which otherwise would have been much too small to film two minifigures in it.

The name of the camping place (Camping Khitomer) is a nod to Star Trek. In the movie “Star Trek IV – The Undiscovered Country”, “Camp Khitomer” plays an important role for the whole Star Trek universe. I thought to myself, if others always make Star Wars references, then this can also be done with Star Trek.

The running-gag spider makes another appearance here…several times. Do you find all of her appearances?
