Synopsis

Chris plans a big Christmas surprise for Rosy, but of course something goes wrong.

Film Facts

The idea for this short film had been floating around in my head for a while. After making #selfielife, I finally had the time to create this animated film set for Christmas 2025.

For this film, there was no script or shot list (a list of all the shots to be filmed). I came up with the story in advance and kept the camera angles in mind, or spontaneously decided on them while filming.

As with #selfielife, I primarily used colored light in this film to create a specific atmosphere. I even bought additional LED lights specifically for this purpose, which allow me to display different colors.

Fun Facts

The snow-covered mountains in the background and the snow for the ground are the same props I used for the film “Making Christmas“.

I filmed the scene where Chris jumps off the camper and lands on the ground five or six times. After accidentally moving the camera or the camper several times, I was in a good position…until I realized I’d forgotten to put Chris’s hair on.

The running gag spider makes a very obvious appearance. Actually, it’s also in another scene where no one will ever find it. That’s because it was hidden behind a tree in the foreground during post-production.
